Adobe Announces Updates to Lightroom (12-2018)

Adobe LightroomAdobe Lightroom Mobile

I’m pleased to announce several new enhancements to Lightroom CC.
On Mac and Windows Lightroom CC now includes:
Target Albums — In order to quickly add images to an album, click the 3-dot icon and choose “Set “xxx” as the Target Album (or, Control -click (Mac) | Right -click (Win) on the album thumbnail and choose Set as Target Album). Then, tap the T key to automatically add the selected image(s) to the target album. To disable the target album, select it again for the menu to toggle it off or, simply choose a different album as the target album.

Filter for Sharing Albums — When sharing Lightroom albums, you can now filter which images are shared. Click the 3-dot icon and choose Share to Web (or, Control -click (Mac) | Right -click (Win) on the album thumbnail and choose Share to Web). In Share Settings choose to filter on Star and/or Pick ratings. This should help reduce the number of albums necessary for many customers.

Support for Partially Compatible Presets — If a preset contains saved settings that are not compatible with the currently selected image(s) (for example a profile which can only be applies to a raw file when a JPEG file is selected), the non-compatible setting will be ignored while compatible settings will be applied.
Album Hierarchy —On import, the Album hierarchy is now reflected in the Add to Album dropdown menu.

On Android and ChromeOS enhancements and new features include a new Shared Albums tab – providing access to all of the photos and albums that have been shared online,  ad-hoc photo shares – allowing any assortment of images to be selected and shared using  without having to first create an album, and wired ethernet support.
