Live Co-Editing in Photoshop Beta

Adobe Photoshop

If you’ve ever wanted to collaborate with multiple creators on the same Photoshop document, at the same time, then now is your chance! Adobe just announced that you can sign up to test drive the new Live Co-editing feature in Photoshop Beta. See the possibilities in the video below.

To provide feedback to influence how this new technology evolves, be sure to use this link AdobeLiveCoEditing to sign up start co-editing documents.

Once Adobe grants you access to the technology, you’ll be able to use the Share button to choose Invite to Edit. (The document will need to be saved to the cloud if it’s not saved there already).

Then, you can add the email of your collaborators to send them a link to the shared document. (You can also select the Copy Link button and then distribute the link to collaborators.)

Everyone who is granted access to the shared document will also be able to carry on a conversation using the Comments panel to aid in the collaborative process.

If you need to explore several different possibilities, you can save different versions of the document using the Version History panel.

Here are some interesting ways that I’ve seen people use Live Co-editing in Photoshop in different workflows:

  • As an educator, you can make your lessons more interactive by inviting students to make edits and comments within your document to reinforce what they’re learning.
  • Students can share their files enabling instructors to make edits and add comments directly in the document to help contextualize feedback.
  • As member of a creative team, you can split up edits to make within a document to increase your productivity.
  • As a client, instead of trying to explain an edit verbally, you can edit the document directly.
  • Having fun with friends – simply playing off of each other’s edits.

Enjoy!
