Today’s update to Photoshop on the iPad takes a huge leap forward with the addition of the Object Selection tool and enhanced Typographic settings.
The Object Select tool was announced in Photoshop on the desktop just 3 months ago at Adobe MAX, and now it’s on the iPad with the same with the same options and settings but re-imagined to take advantage of touch and mobility. Check out Russell Brown’s video demonstrating the power of this new feature.
This release also brings many of the typographic controls you use in Photoshop on the desktop to the iPad including Tracking, Leading, Baseline Shift, Vertical Scale, and Horizontal Scale as well as several different formatting options: All Caps, Small Caps, Superscript, Subscript, Underline, and Strikethrough. Note: Kerning will ship in a future release.
There have also been major performance improvements to the upload and download experience of cloud documents for PSDs of 75mb and larger. Depending on the size of your file and your network performance, you can see up to 90% faster uploads and downloads with these updates.
Note: Photoshop on the iPad is included in all Creative Cloud plans that include Photoshop. If you are already a member, all you have to do to get started is download Photoshop on the iPad and sign in.
