Applying Auto Tone Adjustments in Lightroom Classic

Adobe Lightroom Classic

The Auto Tone option in Lightroom Classic can help create pleasing adjustments to an image with a single click. Depending on the image, the Auto Tone option will make changes to the following sliders:  Exposure, Contrast, Highlights, Shadows, Whites, Blacks, Saturation, and Vibrance.

• Command + U (Mac) | Control + U (Win) applies the Auto Tone correction to an image.

• Or, Shift + double-click on an individual slider in the Tone section of the Basic panel to apply the Auto Tone feature to only that slider (“Exposure” or “Whites” for example).

In addition, Option -drag (Mac) | Alt -drag (Win) the Tone sliders (in the Basic panel), to  preview “clipped values” in an image on a per channel basis (excluding the Contrast slider).

Note: you can also click -drag directly in the Histogram to change the Highlights, Shadows, Whites, and Blacks sliders in the Basic panel. Depending on where you click will determine which slider is adjusted (Blacks, Shadows, Exposure, Highlights, and/or Whites).
