Using Lightroom Classic with Two Monitors

Adobe Lightroom Classic

In this episode of The Complete Picture, Julieanne Kost shows you how to use two monitors to take advantage of Lightroom’s dual monitor solution.

Two Windows, One Screen — Even on a single monitor, the Secondary Display option can be helpful. For example, I often run a secondary “display” (I think of it as a second Lightroom “window” ) in order to view a series of images in Survey mode in the “primary” display window and see how the changes that I’m making in the Develop module (on the secondary screen or window) impact the way that the images work together. I find it’s an excellent way to get the same look and style across various images.

Additional Monitors — When working with more than two monitors, you can choose which monitor to use as your secondary display. Select Preferences > Display  to select the monitor for secondary view.

Shortcuts — Command + F11 will open the secondary window. Add the Shift key to go full screen. Either screen can be the primary or secondary screen. Note: the secondary window will only go to full screen if it is on a secondary monitor.

  • To move between views on a secondary monitor (Grid, Loupe, Compare and Survey), simply add the Shift key to the shortcuts keys that you already know: Shift + G, Shift + E, Shift + C and Shift + N.
  • Likewise add the shift key to the normal shortcuts to zoom in/out (Command + Shift +  “+” or “-” | Control + Shift +  “+” or “-” (Win) increases/decreases thumbnail size.
  • Shift + \ displays the filter bar.
  • Shift + plus/minus will increase/decrease thumbnail size.

    Interesting subject as always.
But would be much better if the video was in focus.
Did compare to others video from same source and they display in focus. So only this episode has the issue.
    Thx.

Very impressive, I think I might be in the market for a second monitor! Thanks Julieanne.
